SYNTHETIC RESPONDENTS
Creates synthetic personas and populations for concept, message and questionnaire research, alongside scenario simulation and studies with people.
PulseLake is a research platform from Ockham Labs Inc. It brings surveys, interviews with people, synthetic research, scenario simulation and analysis into one workspace. Venkat Chandra is its Chairman and CEO, and Riddhi Thummar leads technology as CTO. The platform is aimed at company insights teams, research firms and consultancies.

Researchers define an audience using its characteristics, assumptions and the question being studied. PulseLake then creates versioned synthetic personas or populations for exploring concepts, messages, questionnaires and hypotheses. Versioning keeps a record of which audience model was used. These are generated responses from modeled participants.
A separate simulation workflow starts with previous studies and other research information. Teams define the people or groups involved, change conditions and compare possible responses across scenarios. The platform describes interactions between modeled actors, extending the exercise beyond asking each persona an isolated question. Its scenarios are intended to identify possibilities for further investigation.
The same workspace also supports surveys and qualitative research with human participants. AI-led interviews use an automated interviewer to ask questions and follow-ups of real people. Synthetic-persona studies are a different research mode. Teams can take questions developed in a simulation into human research while retaining the study brief and context.
PulseLake describes keeping a study's objectives, methods, sources and results together, then making earlier work searchable across studies. Its tools include qualitative analysis, calculations, dashboards, reports and presentations. Client workspaces let teams share completed research and ask follow-up questions about it. The company also lists workflows for recurring studies and reporting.

New workspaces can be created through Google or LinkedIn sign-in, and existing users can request an email sign-in link. Studies and AI features use credits, with fees set by the plan or order form. PulseLake's access page does not list fixed subscription amounts. The company offers help with study setup and provides public research calculators separately from its account-based platform.
